Two-Way Global Distribution System (GDS) Interface
The RDP reservation system is designed to provide true last room
availability from a variety of channels simultaneously as
illustrated by the diagram below. This document describes
reservations made via the Global Distribution System and Expedia using one of
RDP's 2-way interfaces. Please also see:

The least expensive reservation channel is your
marketing website, which can be integrated with the RDP
database to display rates and availability and complete
the reservation process without any commissions to
travel agents, GDS, or other third parties.

RDP has partnered with TravelClick to
offer RDP customers a tremendous number of reservation
channels. RDP has a two way interface with
TravelClick's iHotelier CRS to send rates and
availability to the Global Distribution
System (GDS) and load reservations from the GDS into the RDP system.
TravelClick recently purchased
EZYield to add
over 600 additional reservation channels not available
on the GDS.
- The RDP iHotelier 2-way Interface sends
rates/availability from the RDP system to iHotelier.
- iHotelier sends it to the traditional GDS, such
travel agents and many Online Travel Agents (OTA).
- iHotelier sends rates and availability to EZYield, which forwards this information on to over
600 non-GDS channels. For a complete list, go
to: http://www.ezyield.com/fuzionlink/
and click “full list” on the right side of the page.
The RDP iHotelier
Interface is also interfaced to EZYield. RDP customers
no longer need separate interfaces for
Expedia Direct Connect, Inntopia, or
any of the other 600+ EZYield channels. The iHotelier/EZYield interface sends rates and
availability to:
-
Traditional GDS (Travel
Agents)
-
All “Retail” OTA’s connected to the traditional GDS
-
Expedia Merchant
(Expedia at 25% or more and the hotel appears on the
top of the list)
-
Inntopia
-
Over 600 other “non GDS”
channels
-
Reservations from all channels
automatically loaded into the RDP System.

Upgrade to RDPWin 3 and the Two-Way Interface
Customers using RDPWin Version 2 with a one-way interface should consider
the following:
- There are multiple 2-way interface vendors as shown above.
Research GDS providers products to determine the best fit for your
property, and contact the vendors directly.
- Contact the selected GDS provider to notify them of your using
the RDPWin two-way interface and whether or not you will only be
doing reservation retrieval. Some GDS providers require a change in
contract when upgrading from a one-way to a two-way interface.
- Once the GDS provider has been notified and contracts have been
signed, the GDS provider's installation coordinator will contact the
customer and RDP for scheduling of the installation.
System requirements for running a two-way interface are:
- Current version of RDPWin3.
- High speed internet connection.
For more information or
pricing on Two-Way GDS interfaces, please contact RDP.
The Generic OTA (Online Travel Agent) Interface is currently under development. If interested in being part of the
beta version program, contact RDP Sales for details.
